Govt. Pt. Shyam Shankar Mishra College Deobhog is located in the Deobhog tehsil of Gariyaband district of Chhattisgarh state. It is the one and only institute in the rural and tribal area of Deobhog tehsil. Our college is a co-education college. college affiliated to pt. Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur(C.G.).it is in fact the only college in this area with 8.57-acre students including around 350 girls. Deobhog is famous for his diamond mine. Deobhog is the remotest area of Chhattisgarh. 

Deobhog is at a distance of  220 km from  Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh the college has 8.57 acres of land and is geographically located in a rural area. The construction area on the ground floor of the college is 1681 sqm. whereas it is 1681sqm. For the first time, the college got recognition from UGC UNDER 2(f) 12(B) on 2014

The college is started with 01professor and 01 Supporting staff on14 august 2007 with the initiative taken by a group of eminent academicians and social activists who recognized the importance of higher education in the development of the state. The college was named Govt. Pandit Shyam Shankar Mishra P.G. college in 2014. Its journey started in the building of Gov. School Deobhog.

In 2014 college was allotted its own land and thus shifted to its present location. The arts and commerce stream started in2007 whereas the science stream began in 2017 Post graduate classes in zoology and Hindi started in 2017

Govt. pandit says Shankar Mishra college was established with the motive of developing and enhancement of higher education in the rural areas of Deobhog and nearby places.

Development and improvement in the standard of college will open a new perspective in the direction of higher education.
